About Us

Betsy Overkamp-Smith, APR, is an award-winning public relations professional and former newspaper reporter/editor with extensive public school division, local government and non-profit experience.

Her skillset: crisis communications, media relations, project management, comprehensive and strategic planning, communications and family engagement audits, content development, editing, and professional development.


Senior Consultants

Sunshine Janda Overkamp, APR, Fellow PRSA, previously served as vice president of the Council on Foundations and senior vice president of the United Way of America and was named one of the most admired practitioners of non–profit public relations by PR Reporter. She has also served as a university administrator, professor and journalist.

Her skillset: non-profit marketing & communications, strategic planning, communications audits, writing and editing, and crisis communications.


Amy Colley, Ed.D., is the Executive Director of the School-University Research Network (SURN) at the William & Mary School of Education. She has extensive experience in K-12 education as a teacher, principal, central office administrator and assistant superintendent in both rural and suburban school divisions in Virginia.

Her skillset: school leadership, K-12 instruction and engagement, professional development, focus group and meeting facilitation, family communication, and data analysis.


Ronnie Showah started his career as a TV station graphic designer and soon was promoted to oversee design projects for over 30 TV stations nationwide. He transferred his talents to public schools and also is CEO of Rockfive Media, a digital communications firm that provides high-quality web and graphic designs for all budgets.

His skillset: digital design, website design and management, social media, analytics, accessibility, photography, and video production.
